Sundays: Holy Eucharist, Rite II, 10:00 AM, Summer Services at 9:30 AM
Our Sunday Eucharistic service is the focal point of our week with organ music and choir. Sunday School classes meet during the first part of the service and the young people join the congregation for the consecration and communion. All are welcome at communion. Occasionally during the summer months, we hold a Morning Prayer Service.
Additional services are held during Lent and Easter week and special Sundays in the church calendar are celebrated. After Labor Day and through the end of June, our service is held at 10:00 am. Services during July and August are held at 9:30 am.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers
The parishioners at Holy Innocents include several Lay Eucharistic Ministers. They bring to members of the congregation the sacrament of Holy Communion straight from the altar when a parishioner, through illness or other infirmity, is unable to come to church. The lay ministers convey the love and care of the congregation, letting the recipients know that they are missed and that prayers are being said for them.
Birthdays, anniversaries and special events concerning our parishioners are also celebrated during the service.
After the service the congregation of CHI gathers in the undercroft for coffee and good food. It is a special time of fellowship, sharing news, welcoming visitors and relaxing with friends. We often have pot luck meals and the food is always plentiful. CHI has some outstanding cooks including one particularly talented child who recently fed members with a delightful array of pastries and fruit.
